Amedo

​Amedeo offers weekly updates from journal subsets of interest. The free facility has a user friendly website which can be used to set up alerts.Using AMEDEO you can select a medical area, select your favourite medical journals and submit the request form to receive the weekly emails.

 

CASH (Current Awareness Service for Health)

The Current Awareness Service for Health (CASH) is a collaborative project provided by a network of librarians and knowledge managers in the health sector who monitor and capture content from across a range of subject areas. The collaborative working model helps to avoid duplication of effort. At the hub of the CASH website is a database which is used to capture all the latest publications from a selection of high quality sources, organised under a category structure.

Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS)

The NICE CKS service provides primary care practitioners with a readily accessible summary of the current evidence base and practical guidance on best practice in respect of over 330 common and/or significant primary care presentations.You can search by topic or speciality. Educational presentation slides are also available.

Database Searches 

Using Evidence to search Medline, Embase or other databases (logged in via OpenAthens), you can save your search and set it to run on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis; emailing you any new items that have been added since the last search.

An electronic bulletin aimed at keeping you up to date with the electronic knowledge base. All issues here.

Google Alerts

You can get emails when new results for a topic show up in Google Search. For example, you can get info about news, products, or mentions of your name.

JournalTOCs

JournalTOCs is the biggest searchable collection of scholarly journal Tables of Contents (TOCs).This free service contains TOCs for over 19,390 journals, directly collected from over 1115 publishers.

  • Have permanent access to your Followed journals

  • Be alerted when new issues of your Followed journals are published

  • Save and export articles

  • Save searches, so you can create your own email alerts and RSS feeds based on your saved searches

MedPulse Newsletters

MedPulse newsletters (distributed via email by Medscape) update you on key medical news and clinical advances in your speciality area. Select from over 25 different specialities plus other professional editions to get the news you need, when you need it.

NICE Newletters and Alerts

​NICE Newsletters and Alerts lists news stories that highlight the latest developments and announcements from NICE and are aimed at healthcare professionals to members of the public.

RSS Feeds

If you are interested in lots of different websites whose content changes regularly, repeatedly checking each website to see if there is any new content can be very tedious. RSS provides a solution. Contact the library for more information libraryservices@lhch.nhs.uk
